With a PhD in Latin literature and 20 years teaching Myth and Ancient History, Cora Beth has always been interested in the history of the stories we tell – and particularly in how we use stories to make sense of difference.
She is currently working on a book for Bloomsbury, on Exploring autism through the Minotaur; and she is always interested in giving talks on autism and monstering. See below for forthcoming events.
As a Founding Fellow of the Centre for Belonging in Education, Cora Beth is interested in how storytelling and belonging overlap with neurodivergence. Who belongs in our stories, and how is that belonging shaped by social forces?
Cora Beth was made a member of the Brick Classicists Empire (formerly the Lego Classicist Family) in 2019, and has been part of the Lego Pantheon for International Lego Classicism Day ever since. She champions the use of Lego in storytelling, and develops innovative ways to explore research through Lego. You can check out her annual Lego build projects on her Classics website, Classical Studies Support.
Cora Beth’s 2023 Lego project, a story entitled Children of the Labyrinth, has recently inspired a project in Scottish primary schools which offers new ways to explore belonging and difference through myth.
